Basketball Recap: Copley Comes Up Short

Copley was the 61-38 winner over Brecksville-Broadview Heights when they last played one another back in January of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Copley Indians took a 63-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Bees.

Brecksville-Broadview Heights' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bridget Barber led the charge by going 6 of 13 en route to 17 points. What's more, Barber also posted a 63% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jessie Zenir, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 14 rebounds.

Copley has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-6 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points over those games. As for Brecksville-Broadview Heights, their record now sits at 16-5.

Copley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Brecksville-Broadview Heights, they will face off against McKinley at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Brecksville-Broadview Heights is facing McKinley at the right time seeing as McKinley is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
