Football Recap: Burncoat Comes Up Short

Burncoat lost against Blackstone-Millville back in October of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Patriots and the Chargers were almost perfectly matched up, but the Patriots suffered a 7-6 defeat. The game marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Noah Koza threw for 28 yards on eight of 14 attempts. On the ground, Richard Abalo rushed for 94 yards.

Burncoat's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Blackstone-Millville, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Burncoat will square off against Worcester Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Blackstone-Millville, they will challenge Hoosac Valley at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Hurricanes' defense has only allowed 12 points per game this season, so the Chargers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
