Volleyball Recap: Arlington Lions vs. Rancho Verde Mustangs
Arlington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rancho Verde Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.
While Arlington ultimately came up short, they really made Rancho Verde work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 28-12, 22-25, 21-25, 15-9.

Despite the loss, Arlington saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ethan Nguyen had six digs and four aces. Nguyen also set a new season-high mark in assists with 28. Sebastian Torres was another key player, getting 20 assists and one block.
Arlington now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Rancho Verde, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season.
