The Xaverian Clippers are taking a road trip to take on the Archbishop Molloy Stanners at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Xaverian put up the most runs they have all season on Monday. They blew past St. Edmund Prep 16-1. The Clippers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Emmet Gleason looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Xaverian is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 1-5 otherwise.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lucas Zafra, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Steiger, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Xaverian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Archbishop Molloy entered their tilt with Holy Cross on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Knights. The match marked the Stanners' most dominant win of the season.
Archbishop Molloy pushed their record up to 12-4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Xaverian, their record is now 4-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Xaverian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Archbishop Molloy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Xaverian came up short against Archbishop Molloy when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 6-2. Can the Clippers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
