Basketball Recap: Royal Finds Home Court Redemption Against Stafford

There's no place like home for Royal, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took down the Stafford Spartans 58-44 on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Falcons: when they faced off against the Spartans back in December of 2024, they had to take a 53-49 defeat.

Despite the loss, Stafford saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mikya Williams dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 boards gave Williams a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Deloni Hall, who posted six points and eight steals.

With the victory, Royal broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-9. As for Stafford, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-16.

Royal wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 62-40 win against Harmony School of Innovation Sugar Land on the 21st. Stafford has also already played their next matchup, a 1-0 victory against Harmony School of Innovation on the 21st.
