Basketball Recap: New Life Academy Takes a Loss

New Life Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Albemarle School Colts and fell 53-14. The Bobcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-6.

Albemarle School's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Delosreyes, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals. What's more, Delosreyes also racked up four blocks, the most she's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Braelyne Brewer, who went 8 of 18 en route to 16 points and five rebounds.

New Life Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Albemarle School, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-5.

New Life Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Unity Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Albemarle School will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Ocracoke at 4:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
