Soccer Recap: Denison Comes Up Short

Denison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Lovejoy Leopards, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, the Yellow Jackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 654th, while the Leopards are ranked 109th).

Denison's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Lovejoy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Denison and Lovejoy's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Denison will take on McKinney North at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, a squad that's only allowed 0.45 goals per game. Meanwhile, Lovejoy and Walnut Grove (who has only given up 0.27 goals per game) will meet at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
