Softball Recap: Church Point Bears vs. Iota Bulldogs

Church Point was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 12-4 to the Iota Bulldogs. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Kaylee Henry was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Rylee Bertinot, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Church Point's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11-1. As for Iota, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Church Point will challenge St. Edmund at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Iota, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Crowley at 5:30 p.m. Crowley has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.21 runs per game on average), something Iota will no doubt try to take advantage of.
