Softball Recap: Southwest Christian School Beats All S for Their Eighth Straight Victory

Southwest Christian School came tearing into Tuesday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the All S Saints. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Saints, too.

Evan Smith made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Davidson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three doubles, and three RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March of 2024.

Southwest Christian School pushed their record up to 14-2-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for All S, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-3-1.

Southwest Christian School will have a chance to go back-to-back against All S: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
