Volleyball Recap: Shullsburg's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Shullsburg entered their tilt with Cassville on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Comets with a sharp 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Shullsburg was: they took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-12, 25-10.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Shullsburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isabelle Wiegel, who had 12 digs and one assist. Wiegel is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last ten games she's played. Meadow Wiegel also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Shullsburg was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. They are a perfect 12-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

When it comes to explaining why Cassville lost, don't look at Iris Adams. Despite the final result, she had ten digs and three aces.

Shullsburg's record now sits at 16-7. As for Cassville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season.

Shullsburg wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Benton on the 14th. As for Cassville, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against River Ridge on the 14th.
