Grandview won the last time they faced Cherry Creek, and Breven Anderson did his part to make sure it happened again. The Grandview Wolves came out on top against the Cherry Creek Bruins by a score of 78-66 on Friday thanks in part to Anderson, who went 12-for-20 en route to 34 points and five assists. He is becoming a predictor of Grandview's success: when he posts at least 15 points the team is 8-4 (and 4-5 when he doesn't).

The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Samson, who posted seven points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Cherry Creek's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Hammond, who earned 12 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Montae Johnson, who put up 13 points and three steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Grandview and bumps their season record up to 12-9. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 8-13 Cherry Creek and 8-12 Cherry Creek. As for Cherry Creek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.

Grandview didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 67-52 defeat against Smoky Hill on the 20th. As for Cherry Creek, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-53 win against Mullen on the 20th.
