Softball Recap: Edgewood Victorious

Edgewood got themselves on the board against Vincennes Lincoln on Thursday, but Vincennes Lincoln never followed suit. They walked away with a 5-0 win over the Alices. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Vincennes Lincoln's batters probably weren't too happy with ALLY BLAND, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 15 Ks (she gave up four walks). BLAND has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, MADI BLAND was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. ELLA SPROUL was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double.

Edgewood hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vincennes Lincoln struck out 15 times.

Edgewood's victory bumped their record up to 24-4. As for Vincennes Lincoln, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 23-3.

Edgewood and Vincennes Lincoln should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Mustangs (ranked 25th) will meet Speedway (ranked 248th) at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Vincennes Lincoln will face off against Southridge at 11:00 a.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (34 vs. 108).
