Basketball Game Preview: Hampton Christian Academy Warriors vs. Greenbrier Christian Academy Gators

The Hampton Christian Academy Warriors will head out to take on the Greenbrier Christian Academy Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Hampton Christian Academy is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering StoneBridge just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 32-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cavaliers.

Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Greenbrier Christian Academy, as they earned their first road win of the season. They pulled ahead with a 31-30 photo finish over StoneBridge on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Gators' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 108th).

Greenbrier Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Livia Smith, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for Smith. The team also got some help courtesy of Callie Ewell, who posted eight points.

Hampton Christian Academy's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Greenbrier Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Hampton Christian Academy strolled past Greenbrier Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 51-36.
