Softball Recap: Atkins Comes Up Short

Atkins lost against Walkertown back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Atkins Camels lost 17-1 to the Walkertown Wolfpack. The Camels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Olivia Haas made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Three bases. while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

Atkins' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Walkertown, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Atkins will challenge High Point Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Walkertown, they will take on Rockingham County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rockingham County knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Walkertown likes a good challenge.
