Softball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Bangs' 11th in Last 12 Outings

Bangs proved they can win big last Friday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Cisco Loboes 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Dragons have posted since February 15th.

Bangs let Cheyenne Rush and Adalynne Stephens run wild. Rush scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4, while Stephens went 2-for-3 with one home run and two stolen bases. With that strong performance, Rush is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Aubree Buford was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Bangs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive matches.

Bangs is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cisco, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 13-3 record.

Bangs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cisco, they will welcome Lipan at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
