Softball Recap: Fort Recovery's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

Fort Recovery dropped their record down to 15-10 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell 9-5 to the Tri-Village Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-2 back in April.

As for Tri-Village, the win keeps they at an undefeated 27-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 11.1 runs this season.

For Tri-Village's part, Elizabeth Poling spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on eight hits. Poling has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tri-Village got a massive performance out of Emma Greer, who went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave Greer a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Cantrell, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Fort Recovery nor Tri-Village have any future games scheduled.
