Football Recap: Greater Atlanta Christian Comes Up Short on the Road Against Newnan + How To Watch

Greater Atlanta Christian had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 54-14 loss at the hands of the Newnan Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 204th, while the Cougars are ranked 92nd).

Pierce Wilson and Michael Miller certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Wilson gained 132 total yards and two touchdowns, while Miller threw for 263 yards and one touchdown.

Newnan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaylen Britt led the charge by picking up 84 receiving yards and three TDs. Another player making a difference was Brodie Campbell, who threw for 212 yards and three touchdowns.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greater Atlanta Christian will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Decatur at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Newnan, they will take on East Coweta at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
