Basketball Recap: Klein Cain's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Klein Cain's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Magnolia West Mustangs by a score of 58-49. For the Hurricanes, this counts as revenge for the 49-48 win the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2018.

When it comes to explaining why Magnolia West lost, don't look at Jayden Zinn. Despite the final result, he went 9 for 10 on his way to 23 points and eight rebounds. Zinn's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Wright, who posted 11 points.

With the victory, Klein Cain broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-14. As for Magnolia West, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-17.

Klein Cain and Magnolia West could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Klein Cain (ranked 879th) will meet Klein (ranked 395th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Magnolia West (ranked 1092nd) will meet Klein Forest (ranked 440th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
