Football Game Preview: Swainsboro Tigers vs. Vidalia Indians

The Swainsboro Tigers will square off against the Vidalia Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Vidalia took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Swainsboro, who comes in off a win.

Swainsboro gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't give up any more after. They blew past Savannah Country Day 42-14. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Tigers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Hornets are ranked 281st).

Marco Danford was nothing short of spectacular: he picked up 106 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and also rushed for 50 yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Vidalia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 37-14 to Savannah Christian. The Indians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 23-0.

Swainsboro will have to contain ANDRE JACKSON as he made an impact in Vidalia's last game. He rushed for 144 yards and one TD on only ten carries. MARQUIS HARVEY helped out on the ground, rushing for 97 yards.

Swainsboro's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.5 points on average over those games. As for Vidalia, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Swainsboro beat Vidalia 32-21 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
