Football Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Jefferson lost against Hononegah back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The J-Hawks took a 28-12 bruising from the Indians. While losing is never fun, the J-Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 350th, while the Indians are ranked 130th).

Tyler Banker was nothing short of spectacular for Hononegah: he rushed for 145 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Jarvis, who rushed for 58 yards and one score.

Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Hononegah, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Jefferson will square off against rival Boylan Catholic at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Hononegah is set to take on their familiar foe Harlem at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
