Basketball Recap: Thomas Jefferson Academy Snags Fourth Victory in Last Five Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Thomas Jefferson Academy had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Grace Christian Academy Cougars by a score of 47-37.

When it comes to explaining why Grace Christian Academy lost, don't look at Kate Poitevint. Despite the final result, she posted seven points along with 12 rebounds and four steals. Poitevint has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last five times she's played. Chloe Brogdon was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to eight boards and six assists.

Thomas Jefferson Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-16 record this season. As for Grace Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 10-17.

Looking ahead, Thomas Jefferson Academy will take on Fullington Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Fullington Academy will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Thomas Jefferson Academy surely won't give up without a fight. Grace Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
