Volleyball Recap: Macksville's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Macksville lost against Kiowa County back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mustangs took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mavericks. The loss put an end to the Mustangs' undefeated start to the season.

Macksville was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-19.

Heidy Ortiz paced Macksville's offense, picking up seven kills. Ortiz got some help from Anilu Hernandez and her five assists.

Having lost for the first time this season, Macksville fell to 2-1. As for Kiowa County, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Coincidentally, Macksville and Kiowa County will both be playing Ingalls the next time they take the court. The Mavericks will head out to face the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Mustangs will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
