Basketball Recap: Williams Comes Up Short

Williams was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Western Alamance Warriors, falling 62-37. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while the Warriors are ranked 23rd).

When it comes to explaining why Williams lost, don't look at Jordyn Taylor. Despite the final result, she posted 19 points. That's the most points Taylor has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Amira Lunsford, who had seven points.

Williams' defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Western Alamance, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Cedar Ridge the next time they take the court. Western Alamance will host Cedar Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Williams will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th.
