Basketball Recap: Tj Manuel's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Overland over Thunderridge

Overland lost against ThunderRidge back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Overland Trailblazers fell 67-60 to the ThunderRidge Grizzlies. The Trailblazers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

Several Trailblazers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tj Manuel, who went 7 of 17 en route to 22 points. The dominant performance gave Manuel a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Siraaj Ali, who posted nine points and eight assists.

ThunderRidge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drew Paine, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Walkowiak, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 10 points.

Overland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for ThunderRidge, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Overland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-52 victory against Denver East on the 11th. As for ThunderRidge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 58-49 loss against George Washington on the 11th.
