 The Murphysboro Red Devils will look to defend their home field  on Wednesday against the Nashville Hornets at 4:30  p.m. Both teams come into the  game bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 Murphysboro is returning to their home field  after beating DuQuoin on theirs, despite the fact DuQuoin has dominated at home this season. Murphysboro came out on top against DuQuoin by a score of  9-4  on Monday.
 Murphysboro got a great performance from  Austin Hunter as he  tossed five innings while giving up  three earned runs off only  two  hits.
 On the hitting side,  Corbin Compardo was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Sam Herring, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Nashville narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  squad sidled past Gibault Catholic  3-2.
 Murphysboro is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four contests,  which provided a massive bump to their 13-15-1 record  this season. As for Nashville, their win bumped their record up to 23-3.
