Basketball Game Preview: Tom Bean Tomcats vs. Bland Tigers

The Tom Bean Tomcats will challenge the Bland Tigers at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Bland took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Tom Bean, who comes in off a win.

Tom Bean will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Celeste, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Tom Bean came out on top against Celeste by a score of 48-37 on Friday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tom Bean to victory, but perhaps none more so than Garrett Kelly, who posted eight points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Maguire Poole, who scored four points and six steals.

Tom Bean smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 16 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Bland came up short against Whitewright on Friday and fell 52-44.

Tom Bean's victory bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Bland, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-12 record this season.

Tom Bean ended up a good deal behind Bland in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, losing 48-33. Can Tom Bean avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
