Soccer Game Preview: Kalida vs. Ottoville

The Kalida Wildcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Ottoville Big Green at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Tuesday, Kalida was able to grind out a solid win over Ada, taking the game 3-1. Zach Unverferth had to tread lightly for part of the match after he was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble Kalida got from the refs.

Kalida hit Ada with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Logan Kerner, Cody Recker, and Jax Horstman.

Meanwhile, Ottoville hasn't lost a match since August 25th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They and Wauseon finished up on equal footing with a 3-3 draw. Ottoville's loss signaled the end of their undefeated season.

Ottoville's draw makes their record 11-1-2 this season. As for Kalida, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2-4.

Kalida couldn't quite get it done against Ottoville when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
