Armwood gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 38-21 victory over the Gaither Cowboys. The win continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Cowboys: they've now won three in a row.

Several Cowboys players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joshua Balloon, who rushed for 91 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. An impressive showing, but Balloon really ramped things up playing D: he forced one fumble and made ten total tackles (4.0 for loss). Bryan Hamilton also helped out with an impressive 112 receiving yards.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Armwood will welcome Sumner at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Gaither, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Plant at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
