Baseball Recap: Hazleton Area Extends Winning Streak to Four

Hazleton Area had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Dallas on Tuesday. The Cougars blew past the Mountaineers 13-7. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won three contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Marcos Gil Pena was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Ryan Racho was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hazleton Area kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dallas only managed seven hits.

The victory (which was Hazleton Area's fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Dallas, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Hazleton Area has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Emmaus on the 19th. As for Dallas, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 21-7 victory against Western Wayne on the 18th.
