The West Point Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Skyline Coyotes at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. West Point is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.6 runs per game this season.
West Point's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Camelback 29-0. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
JewelyAnna Grijalva made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Grijalva was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Leilani Mendez was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with eight stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. Those eight stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Mayah Cooper was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, five runs, and one double.
West Point kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.
Skyline never got on the board in their matchup last Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Gila Ridge last Friday. They came out on top against the Hawks by a score of 10-5.
Kendall Dasti spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lilly Leon-Valenzuela, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Kailey Meyer also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Skyline picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 4-8. As for West Point, their record is now 9-5.
West Point's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's contest. The Dragons have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Skyline, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will West Point continue to outrun the ball?
West Point got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 against Skyline by a conclusive 18-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dragons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
