Softball Recap: Wheaton North Takes Down Ranked St. Charles North

Wheaton North faced St. Charles North in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Falcons never let the North Stars get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 4, 2022, but that streak is no more.

The result came thanks to Hannah Wulf's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Makayla Grantz, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Abby Del Preto was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

Wheaton North's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for St. Charles North, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Coming up, Wheaton North will take on Neuqua Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Charles North, they will challenge Lincoln-Way East at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Griffins will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the North Stars surely won't give up without a fight.
