Basketball Recap: Aurora Central Catholic Takes a Loss

Aurora Central Catholic played a tough matchup on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Nazareth Academy Roadrunners, falling 65-42. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 667th, while the Roadrunners are ranked 287th).

Matthew Callahan was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 15 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds for Nazareth Academy. The team also got some help courtesy of Danny Wrzensinski, who posted 11 points.

Aurora Central Catholic's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Nazareth Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.

Aurora Central Catholic is facing Westminster Christian at the right time seeing as Westminster Christian is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Nazareth Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Providence Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Providence Catholic has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 179 points over their last three games.
