Football Game Preview: Columbine Rebels vs. Denver East Angels + How To Watch

Columbine has gone a perfect 6-0 against Denver East recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Rebels will host the Angels at 7:30 p.m. The matchup will give Columbine their first taste of in-conference action this season.

Columbine is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Heritage, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Columbine was ranked 17th). The Rebels pulled ahead with a 14-13 photo finish over the Eagles on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Rebels have won by just one point.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Columbine to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mark Snyder, who rushed for 126 yards and one TD. Ajay Gonzales helped out on the ground, rushing for 106 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Columbine was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 300 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, Denver East posted their closest victory since October 11, 2024 on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Montbello 22-19.

The win made it two in a row for Columbine and bumps their season record up to 2-3. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one points across that stretch. As for Denver East, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Columbine took their win against Denver East in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 34-9 score. Do the Rebels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Angels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
