Preview: King Mustangs vs. Sinton Pirates
The King Mustangs will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Sinton Pirates at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for King and three for Sinton.
Last Tuesday, King came up short against Miller and fell 47-39. King has not had much luck with Miller recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, Sinton's 24-10 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a serious blow against Boerne-Champion on Wednesday, falling 73-41. While losing is never fun, Sinton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 989th, while Boerne-Champion is ranked 100th).
King has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Sinton, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-13.
King beat Sinton 62-53 in their previous meeting back in December of 2020. Will King repeat their success, or does Sinton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
