Softball Recap: Atascocita's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Atascocita had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They beat the Pearland Oilers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-3. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on six straight.

Maya Hernandez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaitlyn Miller, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Rhilynn McCoy, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Atascocita pushed their record up to 26-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Pearland, with the loss, they broke their 15-game winning streak and moved their record to 26-7.

Atascocita will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Oilers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
