Galax and Fort Chiswell are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Maroon Tide will challenge the Pioneers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Galax's win against Bland County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Maroon Tide sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Bears on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Maroon Tide have posted against the Bears since May 11, 2021.

Meanwhile, while Fort Chiswell put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for George Wythe. The Pioneers blew past the Maroons 9-0. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won 11 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Fort Chiswell has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.9 runs over those games. Galax's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-12.

Galax might still be hurting after the 21-2 defeat they got from Fort Chiswell when the teams last played back in April. Can the Maroon Tide avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
