The Panthers, who won the Virginia Independent title, returns an embarrassment of riches. Junior Kate Klimkiewicz was a first-team VISAA selection and averaged nearly 12 points per contest. She is joined by second-team player and fellow 6-3 junior Amira Collins. In the backcourt, Paul VI has juniors 6-4 Lauren Ebo and 6-5 Rochelle Norris.

2. Monacan (Richmond)
2015-16 record: 29-1
Head coach: Larry Starr

Now that Megan Walker, the nation's No. 1 female recruit, has chosen to play college UConn, the Chiefs can get down to the business trying for a three-peat as Class 4A champions. Monacan is no doubt led by Walker, who led the team USA to gold at the FIBA Americas U18 Championships in Chile this summer. Walker's supporting cast includes guards Jasmine Norman and Alex Parson.

3. Cosby (Midlothian)
2015-16 record: 18-5
Head coach: Adam Layton

The Titans lost Jocelyn Jones and Tyra Whitehead to graduation, but look to Charme Lilly to help fill that void in getting back to a deep run in the 6A playoffs. Lilly's time on the floor with Jones and Whitehead no doubt will help the Titans, as she scored six points and added five assists in the title contest. Sophomore Nia Covington also will look to help Cosby.

4. Princess Anne (Virginia Beach)
2015-16 record: 29-2
Head coach: Darnell Dozier

The Cavaliers have 6-foot junior Xaria Wiggins and senior captain Nyla Pollard returning from the 5A championship team. Wiggins, who has a great outside shot and runs the court like a point guard, isn't afraid to mess it up down low. Pollard, a lightning-quick 5-9 point guard, has been groomed for leading the Cavs during last season's title run.

The Springers, runners-up to Princess Anne, return George Mason commit Cam Gatling. The 6-2 senior averaged 12 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks last season. Joining her is CeCe Crudup, who averaged 17.8 points, six rebounds and eight assists. Crudup's childhood friend, Jennifer Coleman, averages 17.3 points per game and six assists.
