Baseball Game Preview: Northampton Konkrete Kids vs. Liberty Hurricanes

Northampton has won five straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Liberty has won five straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. Northampton will welcome Liberty at 4:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

Northampton will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Tuesday, then bounced right back against East Stroudsburg North on Wednesday. Northampton put the hurt on East Stroudsburg North with a sharp 14-1 victory. The Konkrete Kids haven't had any issues with the Timberwolves recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Tommy Hensel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aidan Sugra, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Austin Sommers was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Northampton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Liberty won against Whitehall on Thursday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. Liberty was the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over Pleasant Valley.

Liberty's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Northampton, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
