Baseball Recap: Friona Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Friona had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 10-4 to the Sanford-Fritch Eagles. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it eight in a row.

Aaron Rosales put in work while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Rosales was also solid in the batter's box, getting no hits from his an at bat.

In other batting news, Rafael Rocha made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole four bases. Hector Aguirre was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases.

Looking ahead, Friona will head out on the road to square off against River Road at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Sanford-Fritch, they will host Clarendon at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
