Basketball Recap: Chatham Hall Takes a Loss

Chatham Hall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 34-22 to the Timberlake Christian Tornadoes. While the Turtles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tornadoes 9-4 in the first quarter.

When it comes to explaining why Chatham Hall lost, don't look at Priscella Bennsion. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with ten points and 13 rebounds. That was a full 45.5% of Chatham Hall's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Timberlake Christian found their leader in freshman Elsie Smyth, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten steals. Those 14 points gave Smyth a new career-high. Taylyn Kennedy was another key player, putting up four points and three steals.

Chatham Hall's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Timberlake Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season.

Coming up, Chatham Hall will welcome Carlisle at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Timberlake Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-43 loss against Faith Christian on the 10th.
