Football Game Preview: Antlers Bearcats vs. Vian Wolverines

The Antlers Bearcats will face off against the Vian Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Friday, Antlers came up short against Valliant and fell 28-15. The Bearcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ben Copeland, who rushed for 115 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 84 yards and one TD. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 115 rushing yards.

Antlers didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Gavin Brown and Kyzer Mullins.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vian). They blew past Spiro, posting a 47-14 win. The victory continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won six in a row.

Vian's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Antlers, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Antlers was taken down by Vian 48-0 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Wolverines' Masyn Wright, who rushed for 59 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries, and also picked up 66 receiving yards and one touchdown. Now that the Bearcats know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
