Football Recap: Freedom Patriots vs. Wharton Wildcats
Freedom kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were beaten by the Wharton Wildcats 38-0. The Patriots just can't catch a break and have now endured 11 losses in a row dating back to last season.
Christopher (CJ) Hilton went supernova for Wharton, rushing for 130 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. Hilton's longest rush was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. The team also got some help courtesy of Duke Corley, who rushed for 109 yards on only 12 carries.
Freedom will be defending their home-field for the first timethey go up against Chamberlain at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wharton, they will venture away from home to square off against Tampa Bay Tech at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
