Football Recap: Yarmouth Piles Up the Points Against Waterville

Yarmouth entered their tilt with Waterville on Saturday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Panthers 70-26. The Clippers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 26 points or more this season.

A big part of Yarmouth's win came down to the chemistry between Ignatius (Iggy) McGrath and his top target Jackson Jabar. (Iggy) McGrath threw for 312 yards and five touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes while Jabar gained 149 total yards and four touchdowns. With that strong performance, Jabar is now averaging an impressive 103.3 receiving yards per game. Yarmouth also got a significant boost from Harper Ericson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 88 yards.

Yarmouth's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Waterville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Yarmouth will host Mount Desert Island at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Waterville, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Gray-New Gloucester at 1:00 p.m. The Panthers will be up against the Patriots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
