Litchfield made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Watertown-Mayer, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Dragons put the hurt on the Royals with a sharp 28-10 win on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Dragons considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Kira Kuechle was a standout: she scored five runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Janelle Quast, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

The victory got Litchfield back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Litchfield will venture away from home to take on Eden Valley-Watkins at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Watertown-Mayer, they will head out to challenge Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
