Softball Recap: Cowan Takes a Loss

Cowan was the 20-6 winner over Blackford when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Blackhawks fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Blackhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cowan saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Norris, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Cowan's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Blackford, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cowan will square off against Marion at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Giants have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.8 runs per game on average), something the Blackhawks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Blackford, they will take on Eastbrook at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bruins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season.
