Basketball Game Preview: Dixie Greyhounds vs. National Trail Blazers

The Dixie Greyhounds will head out to square off against the National Trail Blazers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Saturday, Dixie took a blow against Valley View, falling 70-29. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 680th, while the Spartans are ranked 325th).

Meanwhile, National Trail had to suffer through a 52-14 loss at the hands of Tri-Village. The matchup marked the Blazers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Dixie has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for National Trail, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Dixie didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against National Trail in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 33-27 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dixie since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
