Basketball Game Preview: Colorado Academy Mustangs vs. Littleton Lions

The Colorado Academy Mustangs will square off against the Littleton Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Colorado Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.

Colorado Academy took a loss when they played away from home back in December of 2024, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed back in December of 2024. Everything went their way against DSST: Montview as Colorado Academy made off with a 58-34 victory. The game marked the Mustangs' most dominant win of the season so far.

Clyde Love was his usual excellent self, going 10 for 22 on his way to 29 points in addition to five boards and three steals. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikel Miller, who posted eight points along with 16 rebounds and five assists.

Colorado Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Littleton entered their match against Pueblo South on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Littleton was beaten by Pueblo South 80-47. The Lions were down 63-40 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Colorado Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Littleton, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-5.

Colorado Academy lost to Littleton on the road by a decisive 60-42 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2019. Can Colorado Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
