Basketball Recap: Alva Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After a string of five wins, Alva's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 60-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jones Longhorns. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Goldbugs came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Longhorns are ranked 99th).

Alva's defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-3. As for Jones, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Alva will square off against Fairview at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jones, they will face off against Kingfisher at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Kingfisher will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Jones surely won't give up without a fight.
