Softball Game Preview: Newton Falls Tigers vs. Bristol Panthers

The Newton Falls Tigers will face off against the Bristol Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Newton Falls has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Bristol will arrive with four straight victories.

On Wednesday, Newton Falls didn't have quite enough to beat Crestview and fell 5-4.

Newton Falls saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madalyn Knight, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base was Knight's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Bristol made easy work of Windham on Wednesday and carried off an 18-3 win. Considering the Panthers have won seven matches by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ellie Anderson was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March of 2024. Kaylee Burns was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

Newton Falls' loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Bristol, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
