Football Game Preview: Alief Taylor Lions vs. Alief Hastings Bears

Alief Taylor has gone 8-2 against Alief Hastings recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Lions will take on the Bears at 7:00 p.m. Neither Alief Taylor nor Alief Hastings posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

Alief Taylor came into their game last Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Fulshear, falling 34-11. The matchup marked the Lions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Alief Taylor didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Quam Olaniyi and Danilo Penso. Olaniyi also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with ten.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Alief Hastings' offense. They were beaten by Fulshear 37-0 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 622nd, while the Chargers are ranked 127th).

This is the second loss in a row for Alief Hastings and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Alief Taylor, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Alief Taylor and Alief Hastings were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but Alief Taylor came up empty-handed after a 28-27 loss. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
